Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. (DfE)
Schools decide how the Pupil Premium allocation is spent however the funding should:
- Improve the identified pupils’ levels of attainment and progress
- Close attainment gaps relative to school averages
- Enable identified pupils to fully access the curriculum
- Enable identified pupils to fully access extra-curricular provision
Schools are held accountable for how they have used the additional funding.
